Forex E-Trading Business Analyst
Sole business analysis responsibility for FXall at BNP Paribas
Responsible for Forex e-trading connectivity projects.
Main duties
- Define requirements with both Forex and Short Term Interest Rate business sponsors
- Define solutions with vendors when applicable (Reuters, Cognotec)
- Recommend best cost effective solutions to the business sponsors
- Define and publish operational procedures
- Publish functional specifications and User Acceptance test plans
- Perform User Acceptance Tests
- Publish and analyse performance statistics
- Publish and maintain project plans
- Publish project status and cost reports
- Co-ordinate and follow-up Forex IT development teams
- Publish and maintain user guides
- Train traders and marketers (Dealer Intervention, FXall trading platform)
- Train IT developers on pricing models used on the platform
- Third line support of the FXall platform
Forex e-trading connectivity projects
• New ECN connectivity: CFETS, RTFX, FXCMPro (Currenex White label), CME on Reuters
Published connectivity analysis and recommended the best solution to the business sponsors, based on time-to market, performances and cost criteria. All projects are ongoing and planned to be completed Q1 06, except CFETS (due to CFETS decision not to onboard new liquidity providers until further notice)
• FX Option Delta Hedge auto-trading
Analysed and defined the best solution to meet the FX Option and Spot desks high performance requirements in pricing and deal notification.
Key projects delivered on FXall
• Front to back implementation of QuickFill 1.0, the FXall spot streaming trading platform.
Such projects included hit protection mechanism, credit check, deal notification, STP and reconciliation, but also a trader Monitoring Application to manage the liquidity on the platform.
• Front to Back implementation of the following products:
- uneven swaps and forward-forwards
- pre-spot outrights, swaps and forward-forwards
- Single Spot Portfolio
Such projects included credit check, autoquoting and manual pricing, deal notification, STP, and reconciliation.
• Pricing enhancements: crossed currency broken date interpolation, holiday calendar, referred dates interpolation
• Dealer Intervention application, used by about 100 traders and marketers world-wide
• Client activity web monitoring site for Forex marketers, used by about 70 marketers world-wide
• STP deal flow redesign, including local booking
==> The FXall pricer and FXall Dealer Intervention application are both functional benchmarks of Forex ETS implementations at BNP Paribas.

The Forex portal is still currently used by Forex Sales teams to market FXDealer, the BNP Paribas on-line execution platform.

Forex E-Trading platform provided by Baxter, a FINEX and CME broker.
BNP Paribas acts as liquidity provider: the bank streams spot and swap prices to Baxter, and receives Futures contracts dealt on the Baxter platform.

Client Portfolio valuation intranet site, originally designed for the Interest Rate Group Middle Office.
==> The site has become the bank standard multi-product valuation tool used by Sales and Middle Office teams in Forex, Bonds and Interest Rate Groups.
• ABSMaster
Intranet site providing documentation on ABS, MBS and CDOs securitisation products, such as deal class description, rating reports, marketing materials, and investor reports.
==> First web site at BNP Paribas to use .Net and XML based technology to exchange data with the Credit legacy systems.
