In an article published in the “Harvard Business review” Michael Hammer¹ said:
“The process based approach… can lead to enhancements in performance, enabling organizations to deliver greater value to customers in ways that also generate higher profits to shareholders. In every industry companies of all size have achieved extraordinary improvement in cost, quality, speed, profitability, and other key areas by focusing on, measuring and redesigning their customer-facing and internal processes”.
The Process Development approach applied actually in SOX projects (Sarbanes Oxley Act – 2002) could and should also be useful whatever the size and the activity of the company and especially in cases like:
• Strategy (Elaboration and deployment) and Market evolution (threats and opportunities),
• Cost reduction (Cost cutting),
• Merger and Acquisition, Joint venture etc.,
• Fast growing situation or restructuration,
• Opening new markets and especially for export Business,
• And to handle specific files like Fraud (detection and Prevention), face a critical situation etc.
The Process Development approach should bring to companies flexibility, reactivity, efficiency and gives them advantages over competitors.
