eGovernment is the one-stop government shop for a citizen of a given population. This “shop” is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and, ideally, can supply a citizen with any and all information needed about his/her government. It is a virtual version of existing government agencies and offices of a given locality, region or nation. Ideally, given its “one-stop” characteristic, a citizen can locate the office or agency desired within the main site.

In other words, in a perfect eGovernment setting, a citizen is able to communicate and/or execute an exchange between her/his government via the Internet. This means being able to download official documents and forms, to write a comment to one’s politician, to pay a bill and to file one’s taxes.

eGoverance? If so, in what way?

4/ Are the dangers of eGovernment greater than the advantages?

5/ How will eGovernance change democracy? Will it increase public participation in the democratic system or will the number remain the same?

6/ Should there be more support for eGovernance by elected officials?

7/ Would an eGovernance society be more expensive or less expensive than the system which is currently installed?
