State Duma to ratify Agreements on Pre-Caspian Pipeline (Tuesday, October 7, 2008)
The Russian Ministry of Energy expects the State Duma to ratify agreements on Pre-Caspian Gas Pipeline by the end of 2008, Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky told journalists. He said intergovernmental agreements with Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were sent for the ratification to the State Duma and they should be ratified at the autumn session, RBC reported.

ArcelorMittal Kazakh unit sees lower 2008 output (Thursday, October 2, 2008)
ALMATY, Oct 1 (Reuters) - The Kazakh unit of steel giant ArcelorMittal (ISPA.AS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) expects its 2008 output to fall by more than 30 percent due to shrinking global demand, it said on Wednesday.
ArcelorMittal Temirtau, which exports most of its steel to China and Russia, is Kazakhstan's biggest steel producer and operates a plant with annual capacity of six million tonnes, as well as 15 coal production facilities.
