Estate program Tuesday, July 21, 2009 What if you could design your DREAM program? What would a PERFECT internet business look like? Maybe something like this: * One time entry, no more out of pocket expense - ever. * Product is top of the line quality. Something everyone can use and that many NEED and/or WANT badly. No pills, lotions or potions! * Produces lifetime residual income. * Pays you every month, starting your first month. * No selling, unless you want to. * A business/product you aren't ashamed of sharing or worried about selling to people. * Extra weekly paychecks if you do make sales. * Neither a MLM or a Pyramid scheme. Just watch the presentation and then decide, even if you don't like it, you've only wasted about an hour of your time, but I think you will be as impressed as I was! Grab a cuppa and watch the one hour business presentation of a company that fits this description HERE: Watch this http://www.icfworldhomes.com/member_presentation.htm Browse also here http://www ... |

Election '08: Liberals, Greens talk about IT issues Wednesday, October 1, 2008 By: Kathleen Lau - ComputerWorld Canada (30 Sep 2008) As the race towards Oct. 14 gets serious, CIPS and CATA don't see a strong voice that represents the interests of the technology sector. Canada's IT associations say the ongoing federal election campaign lacks a strong positioning statement for Canada as an innovation nation and a plan for how the country can accelerate its role as an information economy, but the Liberals and Green parties say they value the contributions of the technology sector. “And that’s quite important to have that vision,” said John Reid, president and CEO of Ottawa-based CATA Alliance. “Because in order to work through structural changes people want to have a sense of what the roadmap is and how the economy will look different now from five years out.” For more details: http://www.cata.ca/Media_and_Events/Press_Releases/cata_pr09300802.html |
Can you be transparent in Social Media? (A PI Q&A) Friday, September 5, 2008 Network Member Question Can you be transparent in Social Media? (Note: Please check out my thoughts on this question at http://echoinggreenbusiness.ning.com/profiles/blog/show?id=2301358%3AblogPost%3A64) Carmen Bracamonte President – LargerNet Trade Development and Management Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL My Response I just wrote an article titled “The Web 2.0 Association: A Dynamic Engagement Between Stakeholders Sharing The Same Interests And Goals (Canadian Public Procurement Council Profile)” – the link to which is in the Web Resources Section of this response. Equally telling was the level of reader response (see link below for one reader’s comments), and in particular the emergence of a common theme as illustrated by the following excerpt: “Associations could better leverage Web 2.0 to deliver a greater level of service to me as a supply chain professional by more actively, rapidly and efficiently aligning with the pace at which new, useful industry information becomes available – then ... |

Input needed into Canada’s Space Industry: Open Forum Friday, July 18, 2008 Ottawa, July 14 2008 - The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA) is requesting public input into Canada’s future role in space exploration. An open forum has been created with opinion gathering software from Chide.it to analyze and act on feedback to a strategy-defining manifesto and call to action formulated by Canadian leaders involved in space research and industrial activities. The document offers a consensual framework to identify Canada’s vision to develop the ‘endless ecology’ of space. It also encourages feedback and suggestions from the public, private sector, businesses, and academia. With a framework that outlines the specific benefits of space exploration, such as the endless ecosystem, economic progress, conservation technologies, and competitive advantage, space industry leaders are looking for a consensus on Canada’s vision for future space policy. CAIP Responds to Bell’s Anti Competitive Behaviour Tuesday, April 29, 2008 April 29, 2008 - Ottawa, ON - Canada's largest Internet association has submitted its reply to Bell Canada's response to a regulatory complaint filed with the CRTC by the Canadian Association of Internet Providers (CAIP). CAIP's reply states that Bell's response confirms that the association's arguments of wrong-doing by the country's largest phone company in what has become known as "traffic shaping" or "throttling" were well-founded. CAIP's original Part VII Application was filed earlier this month in response to certain "traffic shaping" measures that Bell Canada is applying to local access and transport services it supplies to competitors on a regulated basis. Independent competitors interconnect with Bell in order to gain access to their end-user through the "final mile" of access on Bell's local network. Competitors deliver their own services, including Internet access, VoIP, VPN, etc., over this regulated facility. Social networking for business - time-waster or money-maker? Sunday, April 13, 2008 Entrepreneur Len Rosen was a sceptic about using social networks to boost his marketing business until his 23-year-old daughter introduced him to Facebook – and now he's totally converted. The sole proprietor of Toronto-based Len Rosen Marketing Inc. soon joined other social networking sites like LinkedIn and Xing. Running his marketing consultant business from home using contract employees, he finds the expertise he can easily access through these sites invaluable to the way he does business. “I'll put up a problem [in an area] where I don't have a lot of expertise and in a short amount of time, I'll get a response,” Rosen says. “That person becomes a virtual extension of my company, and suddenly I have an associate.” Rosen's Web site is now host to a growing list of associates he has never met in person. The relationships he manages online pay off in a big way for his small business. This is one example of the cusp of a trend – businesses looking at social networking sites to offer them ... |

Traffic shaping Update, Views Sought Sunday, April 13, 2008 Call it 'traffic shaping' 'throttling' or just plain 'slowing things down', Canada's Internet Service Providers are not buying the arguments of Bell Canada concerning its network management techniques. Although industry representatives say managing traffic demands and availability on the Internet is a way to preserve users' Internet experience when demands are high, third-party ISPs say they have received numerous complaints from users about a degradation of service lately. In the middle of March, independent Internet Service Providers not affiliated with the incumbent telephone and cable companies say they began noticing an increase in complaints from their clients describing a reduced ability to transmit and receive files, listen to Internet radio or use their Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service. When Internet traffic is "shaped", also described as "throttled" or "choked", the data is inspected to determine its function. Certain types of data, in this case torrent or peer-to-peer (P2P) ... |
CATA Pushes Service Innovation to Federal Committee Tuesday, February 5, 2008 Ottawa February 5, 2008 -- CATA told a House of Commons Committee today that national prosperity heavily depends on increasing productivity in the service sector. In a meeting with the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology, spokespeople for the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance proposed the establishment of a centre and online Hub where ICTS service productivity can be improved, through pre-competitive work on the design of the user experience. “The outcome would be innovation and monetization in the software service sector,” stated Eli Fathi, President of Orbit IQ and CATA VP of Commercialization. “This centre would be world-leading, because almost no work has been done to understand these ideas.” CATA EVP Barry Gander noted that a new realization is becoming top-of-mind in the U.S., Japan and some European countries: “While the production of hard goods is important, services are responsible for 70% of our GDP and 76% of our employment. The vast majority of the 400,000 ... |
