First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum – Qualify Opportunities

Deputy Chief Susan O’Sullivan to Keynote First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum – Qualify Opportunities at Boardroom meetings with
Key Buyers

Deputy Chief Susan O’Sullivan with the Ottawa Police Service has confirmed that she will keynote at CATA’s unique First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum on Oct. 8 and 9 in Toronto where Executive Boardroom meetings with some of Canada’s technology procurement decision-makers are being provided to attendees.

Deputy O’Sullivan, a former advisor to the Auditor General of Canada on National Security in Canada and a well-known leader in the police community will provide an overview of a tri-government initiative - Operation Intersect. Operation Intersect works to mitigate the effects of threats in a manner that enhances public safety and awareness during times of instability and uncertainty. Deputy O'Sullivan will also discuss police technology needs in relation to multi-agency major incident response.

Connected Vehicle Workshop

A workshop to explore the new business opportunities
being created by building the eco-system for mobile
broadband services, and a consultation to explore the
technology applications and opportunities of the
wireless mobile platform of 2015.

Goal: Bring together respected opinion-leaders in an
invitation-only event to explore two dimensions of the
‘last frontier’ of connectivity: the 600 million
vehicles that are driven every day:

The future of mobile broadband applications & services
in an automotive context, and

The market opportunities for those applications and
services.

There will be a closing Roundtable Forum that will
involve all participants in an “Opinion-Leader

First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum--Please Complete the Survey

CATAAlliance, together with the Canadian Police Research Centre (CPRC) are launching the pilot of a national series of Vendor Outreach Forum (VOF) consultations at the Metro Toronto Convention Cetre in Toronto on October 8 - 9. The Forum will bring Canadian ICT companies together with Canada’s First Responders in order to help shape the future direction of industry R&D efforts and help lay the foundation for a technology roadmap for First Responders.

Canadian Pavilion Confirmed Gartner Outsourcing Summit Washington

As a result of a special deal negotiated between CATAAlliance and Gartner and announced this past December - Canadian Pavilion Opportunity - Gartner Sourcing Summit in Washington - CATA has secured the largest delegation yet of industry and government partners to represent and promote Canadian trade and investment opportunities at this premier and internationally acclaimed tradeshow event.

Government Accountability Roundtable

New CIO Leadership Award (June 10 Gala, nominatinos open)

OTTAWA, January 23, 2008 - CATAAlliance, Canada's largest high technology association announced today the creation of a new Deloitte & Touche Chief Information Officers (CIO) Leadership Award.

The new Award will recognize CIOs, or those in equivalent positions, who have shown excellence in managing their organization's enterprise-wide information systems, yielding the greatest returns to their enterprises. Winners will be selected for two categories: SME business (under 150 employees), and large corporations (more than 150 employees).

Finalists and award recipients will be chosen by a selection committee comprising experts drawn from the CIO Association of Canada, CATAAlliance and Deloitte & Touche.
