Following the results of a pre-feasibility study, a group of companies from the North East of Italy then investigated the investment potential of the Southwest States of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra as these regions were shown to offer opportunities in food processing. This project is investigating the availability of raw materials in these States and the possibility of employing the know-how, technology, equipment and business practices of the participating European companies. It can lead to investments, which could, on the one hand, provide Indian producers with better prices, while European companies can avail of fresh materials at very competitive prices.
