Descriptifs:

We are currently supporting two Murex installations: Murex 2.10 for FX business and Murex 3.1 for the Equity and Commodity business. Both are customized binaries for the bank.

The support team provides service 24h, 7 days a week for a worldwide customer base (weekends used for system maintenance). Support hours are split into shifts including a nightly on-call and weekend work. Shift rotation is roughly on a 5 week rotation.

The team consists of highly qualified specialist as we cover a very wide spectrum of tasks being the single point of contact for all issues around Murex ranging from technical problems, system usage question, reporting, interfaces, P&L related investigations, small developments etc.. Candidates will be exposed to all areas of support with the opportunity to expand their knowledge where possible/required.

Our infrastructure is based on Solaris 10, Sybase 12.5 and object oriented Perl scripting. We expect potential candidates to be very comfortable with these technologies (maybe not to a system administrator level, but close to that).

The candidate should have worked with Murex before (2.1x or 3.1, ideally both) and be able to comfortably navigate through the GUI to be able to understand business requests. He should understand the underlying system infrastructure and be able to analyse and fix technical issues correctly and in a timely fashion under high pressure.
He should have at least a basic understanding of the investment banking business to be able to understand request coming from our business customers.

Though the workload is demanding it's on the same side rewarding as we're not limited to certain areas of support. Team spirit is very high. The candidate must have a proven background of being a team player as it can be required that teamwork is required even outside of regular support hours (e.a. during the night). We expect team members to be generally available to help each other out if a crisis should arise.

The candidate should be fluent in English. German language skills are a nice-to-have but not a requirement. Communication within the team and with our customers generally is in English.
