Ø My achievements are: creation of the team, Research plans, university and industry cooperation, international recognition of the team through the granting of more than 90 patents, several conferences speeches, reaching twice the most web-accessed technical report of HPLabs. 2 successful technology transfers to businesses. Oct 96->Mar 99 Hewlett-Packard, Grenoble. R&D Lab manager for Vectra Professional PCs. Ø I was responsible for the Vectra professional personal computer line. Primary cooperation with Product marketing to establish new product road map and feature set evolution. Team of 110 engineers and a prototypes assembly line, budget around 40Millions USD. I nurtured the contract-manufacturing model for development and started the collaboration with taiwanese manufacturers. Ø My major achievements were: to bring back HP products to the press award list, as #1 in 97 and 98, To start the “non-legacy” PC design, and to support development of NetPC and the development of single subsystems fitting into 3 different enclosures form factors. I reduced the R&D spending to 1.2% of revenue and limit the warranty failure rate to 6%. I played a major role in the integration of R&D in ERP. Sept 91->Sept 96 Hewlett-Packard, Grenoble. R&D Lab section manager for Vectra Professional PCs Ø Managing a team of 35 engineers, I had the world wide responsibility of development for major subsystems of personal computers such as: Graphic engine, Network, BIOS. This responsibility encompasses hardware and software aspects and the final product or system integration. Ø My achievement had been to focus the company resources on differentiation while the commodity part was outsourced. I enabled a very strong technical relationship with suppliers. Jan 90->Aug 91 Hewlett-Packard Grenoble and Isle d’Abeau, Procurement manager Ø Managing a 6 procurement and materials engineers team, I had responsibility of sourcing and Supply chain design for personal computer enclosures and shipping containers. Responsibility extended to cooperative design with R&D to reduce part count and assembly time and to integrate supply chains efficiency. This responsibility extended at worldwide level. Ø My achievement had been: -60% on part count, -75% on assembly time and –50% on supply chain costs while dropping part cost by 33% 1989 -> 1990 Ecole Supérieure des Affaires de Grenoble.
