Telecomunications and IT Systems Management Engineer (Internship)

Main Duties:

Project on Satellites Telecomunications.
Title of the project: Satellite Wide Band Multimedia Access by using the iDirect Platform.
Use of the Satellite Communication Concepts such as Space Segment, Terrestrial Circuits (Frame relay, IP VPN, dedicated circuits).
Perform Link Budget Analysis- sizing carriers and equipment.
Defining and studying the different access methods of the carriers (TDMA, SCPC, CDMA) and use them in applications such as Videoconference, Telemedicine or Military Defense Field.
Use of the Data Communications Concepts (Network Topology, Systems Analysis. 7 Layer OSI Model, TCP/IP Protocol, IP addressing) for the Network Design.
VSAT Training.
Installation (Chassis, Hub Line Cards, NetModems NMS & PP) and Use via Linux OS of the iDirect Network at Silver Spring (USA) or Fuchsstadt (GERMANY) Teleports.
Network Management Training (WAN, LAN, DHCP).
Trips with a team (made of the Director, the manager, me and the technical operator) to two offices located in Andrews (Texas) for the HelpDesk and Melbourne (Florida) which is the second operational center.
Main role within the team: the link between the manager and the technical operator.

Integration work within Computers (Masterisation, BIOS Configuring, VIDEO/TV cards Installation) within ALIUM SCC.
