Support to the to the Scientific Committee (SC) and its working groups in their task to provide scientific opinions and technical advice on request of the European Commission, the European Parliament, Member States or EFSA;

Preparation of working documents or scientific reports; Collection and evaluation of scientific information and data on matters covered by the SC Unit; Providing information on legislative/policy aspects of questions related to the work of the SC Unit.

Contribution to the organisation of meetings and administrative support to the Scientific Committee and all its working groups; Support to the administrative handling of matters related to questions and applications covered by the SC Unit.

Internal communication: contributing to the co-ordination, planning, development, harmonisation and implementation of activities and procedures of the Authority; supporting other departments of the Authority on matters related to the work of the SC Unit; External communication: handling of external requests for information relevant to the work of the SC Unit, including requests from other European Institutions, International Bodies, Member States and the general public
