The aim of my current position is to set up an operation in the United Kingdom and develop it. This
Business development position requires to apply various skills such as Marketing, Human Resources,
Sales and Strategy. For example, some of my tasks are:
- Definition of the UK strategy
- Definition of marketing materials: presentation, brochure…
- Market segmentation and competitors analysis
- Identification and negotiation of partnership
- Identification of possible acquisitions
- Identification and answer to customers’ needs
- Organisation of software demonstration and training
- Management of the human resources processes adapted to the UK business environment:
selection of agencies, recruitment / interview of candidates…
My early successes in this position are mainly in the defence area, which is my area of expertise. I have
set up good relationship with a number of engineering companies like ASSYSTEM, SEA, ATLAS
ELEKTRONIK and the UK MOD for which I have made several presentation of our software tools and
obtained to have one of them included in their validation and verification process (on-going at the
moment). Moreover I have raised the profile of APSYS inside EADS UK from the CEO level to project
engineers (APSYS was unknown before my arrival) and with the International Business Wales. I also
defined a marketing and communication plan, which leads to the publication of an article in the western
mail and the IMECHE review. Moreover, I set up a HRM function from scratch, which is now up
running, and guarantee us with a permanent in flow of interesting and valuable CVs. Since the
beginning of 2008, I have recruited 4 engineers.
At the moment, I am also setting up a partnership with various universities for a research program in
the domain of system behaviour modelling (12 PhD are currently identified in the framework).
Moreover, I’m continuing my work as a safety consultant.
