Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apply for a marketing or advertising related position a company in Paris, France.
I am very keen to live and work in France because of my great interest in the French culture. I know basic French, which I acquired from almost one year of French lessons while I was in university. I was born in India, raised in Singapore and have studied, worked and traveled in different parts of the world.
Currently, I am working in an IT company in Singapore where I carry out marketing and product strategy related projects. Following my graduation last year from the reputable Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, I decided to gain some overseas work experience at Opera Software in Norway for one year.
There, I launched ad campaigns, performed data analyses, managed project, user events, contents and various other forms of online and offline marketing. I also represented Opera at reboot 9.0, a conference in Denmark. In addition to my work at Opera, I was an active member of the Association internationale des étudiants en sciences économiques et commerciales (AIESEC). I attended several conferences and conducted sessions for outgoing exchange students to give them an outsider’s perspective of Norway.
I have worked with MTV Asia as part of my curriculum during my undergraduate degree. As a Communications student, I launched large community campaigns in teams. We presented a paper at the International Conference on Youth Empowerment (ICOYE) in Hong Kong in June 2006. I was also selected to participate in a competitive exchange program in San Diego State University, California in 2004.
I have always taken great pride in writing and literature. Therefore, in addition to my current job, I am doing freelance writing for Expat Living magazine. Writing has always been my forte and I have gained enough flexibility to write on a variety of topics.
I would embrace the opportunity to work for a reputable company in Paris. Please be assured that I will deliver my best in everything I am assigned. I hope to have the opportunity to discuss the opening with you at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours Sincerely,
Vyoma Kapur
