Thomas Ravier

Lead Buyer for the Bearings and Springs commodity, covering the requirements of our sites of Toronto, Montreal, Gloucester (UK) and Pau (FR) - annual turnover of USD 13 million. I am in charge of managing the supplier port folio for the commodity, implementing and applying the strategy for the commodity, new programs sourcing, contractual and commercial aspects. This position involves team work, autonomy, rigour, communication, analytical, synthesis and negotiation skills in a very international and multi-cultural environment.

Sub-contracting of machining and mechanical components (Request for quotation, analysis and comparison of the offers, negotiation and contracting), international sourcing, standardization and globalization, strong cooperation with the engineering department (re-design to cost) and the tendering department, continuous improvement. Worldwide remote support (2nd level) in English and French with networking, hardware, software and Oracle Applications (ERP, CRM, OCS, APS…). Customer facing position in a very international environment, requiring team spirit, reactivity, autonomy, analytical and synthesis skills.

Set up of an experimental SCTP/IP network for the purpose of congestion studies. Modification of the Implementation of the SCTP protocol in the aim of improving its performance while used for video streaming.
