HR Officer & Internal Communication
Area of Responsibility:
Non manufacturing activities (Approx. 500 employees): Engineering, Customer Services, Program Teams, R&D, Laboratory, Finance, Quality, HR/HSE.

Personal Initiatives/Achievements:
• Redesign and implementation of a new induction process that is better aligned with the requirements of the business
• Negotiation of competitive pricing with recruitment agencies (reduction of fees from 20% to 15% and management of a Preferred Supplier List)
• Creation of guidelines on HR processes to share best practice and ensure consistency across the members of the team
• Driving continuous improvement meetings between HR Officers
• Taking part in global projects as the HR representative
• Creation of a user guide for managers on pre-employment
• Creation of a relocation and welcome pack for newcomers to the area

General Human Resource Management:
• Audit/review of policies and procedures, and advice to line managers on their interpretation and operation - eg.: disciplinary/capability issues.
• Advice and support to line managers and employees on legislation, salaries and benefits - eg.: realisation of a salary study on engineering positions.
• Contribution to the identification of training needs for the business and development of programmes to deliver them - eg.: Creation of a management competency matrix to define the learning objectives for a top managers’ training.

Recruitment and Selection:
• Identification and review of customers’ needs in compliance with the requirements of the business - eg.: Questioning the needs of the business for a certain role, taking into account headcount issues.
• Recruitment and selection including identification and application of appropriate assessment techniques - eg.: up to 20 simultaneous vacancies, specialised in engineering/technical recruitment, organisation of assessment days, development of new sourcing methods.
• Carry out exit interviews - eg.: analyse information and follow-up discussion with the customers.

Internal Communication:
• Advice and support to managers in selecting the most appropriate communication method - eg.: improvement of communication on initiatives/projects and on recognition of individual/team efforts
• Responsible for the design and publication of an internal site newsletter - Managing an editorial team of 8 people to create a 12 page magazine, providing 2 or 3 editions a year, using Microsoft Publisher for the design.
