Michael Page International is a leading professional recruitment consultancy specialising in the recruitment of permanent, contract and temporary positions on behalf of the world’s top employers. The Group operates through over 150 offices in 25 countries worldwide and more than 5,000 employees worldwide.

Reporting directly to the National Director of Engineering, I was hired by Michael Page to create and launch the mining division in the Brisbane office. The purpose of my role is to work with employers and job seekers to facilitate a successful match. This can range from advising a global company on a candidate sourcing strategy to helping a candidate find their dream job.

Missions:
• Interview candidates
• Business Development (Call / meet clients)
• Build / Gain Market knowledge
• Continually seek to build expertise and specialisation in the mining market
• Organise / attend candidate and client functions
• Generate assignments (i.e. find opportunities to match client needs with appropriate candidates)
• Actively promote myself and the MPI business to candidates and clients
• Fee negotiation
• Produce revenue by completing the assignments (monthly targets, quarter objectives…)
• Provide recruitment strategies to candidate and client
• Promote a range of MPI advertising solutions to clients
• Attend team and company meetings
• Involvement in team and company activities

John Davidson & Associates provides a complete recruitment service, from position definition and evaluation, through to travel and logistics arrangements for the successful appointee. JDA is also affiliated with National Personnel Associates, an organisation of approximately 500 small-medium recruitment agencies based throughout America, Europe, Asia and Australasia.

Reporting directly to the Division Manager and to the owner, I specialised in New Caledonian, African, Papua New Guinean and Australian mining operations.

Missions:
• Recruitment providing comprehensive human resources management services to the clients

• Conduct candidate interviews, database searches reference checks and preparation of invoices
