| I am a PhD student in theoretical physics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. My specialization is in the field electronic transport in mesoscopic systems. I deal with fundamental questions related to the transport of electric charge in nanoscale devices. At such small scales, classical (i.e. Newtonian) laws of physics do no longer apply and the quantum (wave) nature of the charge carriers emerges and starts to directly influence the behavior of the device. This field is of great relevance to the future of information technology as ongoing miniaturization will soon lead us into the realm of mesoscopic physics.
My work requires a fair amount of analytical skills combined with a good knowledge of computer systems and scientific programming.
I am fluent in english, german, french and italian and I have a dual Swiss-American citizenship. |

PhD student and Teaching Assistant

| I am working in the group of theoretical mesoscopic physics at the university of Geneva, Switzerland. In this group, we are doing fundamental research on electronic transport through small scale devices. My tasks include investigation and development of quantum theoretical models describing the conduction and noise properties of semiconductor based micro- and nano-devices. As part of my thesis work I also function as a teaching assistant actively mentoring students of the physics department. |
