Currently working as a civil servant responsible for project managing tender exercises on behalf of the Department of Health (DOH)either driven by contract renewal requirements or DOH policy with the ultimate aim of delivering a cost saving solution. Recently awarded the highly recognised CIPS award for Best Public Procurement 2007. Career to date has been dominated by planning/scheduling roles which has made me an extremely efficient worker in terms of delivery, accuracy and quality. To supplement my career all further education has been undertaken on a part time basis and has seen me attain a Business Studies degree from Liverpool University and an MBA from the University of Wales. In my spare time I volunteer as a bereavement counsellor for a national charity, this enables me to work on skills that are not prevalent in the workplace. As a person I am a conscientious individual who recognises the importance of the customer and strives to meet and exceed their expectations. I have a keen eye for detail and a high concern for order. An executive agency of the Department of Health has the aim of achieving the best value for money for the NHS (National Health Service)on the goods and services it purchases. We also operate as strategic advisors to the NHS on supply issues. My role within PASA is to conduct procurement tender exercises from notice to award by applying an appropriate sourcing strategy that normally involves researching the marketplace, creating and evaluating tender documentation, supplier liaison (before, during and after the process), engaging with stakeholders whilst following EU directives to reach a cost saving solution. I have project managed contracts for a variety of products and services which have been driven by contract renewal requirements or Department of Health policy. Contract values that I have been responsible for have ranged from £800k to £345m. Most significant achievement to date is winning the 2007 CIPS Award for Best Public Procurement. Over the course of 18 months, I have awarded two contracts for the NHS which should realise savings of up to £24m and £12m respectively per annum for temporary staffing, and equipment and telehealth services for the elderly and vulnerable. | |

Planned and supported the execution of product supply to the French, Italian and Mediterranean markets (Business value £250m). Continuously improved total process and total performance of supply, and inventory levels. Day to day duties included the monitoring of a loading schedule produced weekly covering cereal distribution from plant warehouses to overseas destinations. Responsible for the deployment of product from three european manufacturing plants and outside co-packing facilities into France, Italy and the Med area, ensuring effective and efficient use of transport and warehouse capabilities. Team Leader for France therefore responsibile for a team of 2 Supply Planners situated in Germany and Spain. Reduced the French market cereal inventory by 20% whilst maintaining expected levels of supply and quality, reducing obsolescence and reducing the rented warehousing costs. | |
