I have 15 years of experience in construction, construction management, and project financing and mobilization. I also am highly experienced in assembling and managing multi-cultural project teams, in working in demanding conditions, and managing the procurement of materials in even the most logistically challenged geographies. My management skills have been integral in projects throughout Asia, Europe and Eastern Europe, including roads and bridges, water supply systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, dams, commercial and public buildings, schools and hospitals, power plants and power supply systems.
I have extensive experience in helping charitable organizations attain their construction goals, and in ensuring that precious construction funds are spent wisely. I also have crafted successful business plans and training programs for emergent economies that help communities thrive long after a specific capital project is completed. My work with governments, international banks and finance agencies has made me particularly adept at navigating local, state, national and international laws and regulations, and gave me a global experience, way beyond the field of construction, in politics, diplomacy, finance, etc... Notably, I spent seven years working on various projects to improve infrastructure in former Soviet republics in central Asia. While there, I gained invaluable knowledge of the work practices and peculiarities of the former Soviet system, and trained project teams in more modern and universally accepted practices. I am fluent in English, French, Spanish and Russian and has strong working knowledge of Mongolian. My global experience and language skills make me a good team leader, ensuring that multi-cultural project team members from disparate locations throughout the world work together cohesively.
My short/middle term goal is to use my experience in order to manage bigger projects in the field of social and economic development, preferably in former communist countries where my experience and language skills gives me an critical edge in project development and management.
On a longer basis I wish to start my own consulting company or organisation, or become a major decider in an existing one.

I was the team leader of a Hill-led consortium retained to manage a major educational facilities program in Turkey. In this position, I was responsible for ensuring the on-time and within-budget completion of several concurrent projects at various locations throughout western Turkey. Specifically, I and my project team were charged with managing the construction of 15 schools, two dormitories, and a dining hall. The project was part of a larger two-year program, for which Hill is providing program management, to improve educational facilities throughout Turkey. As part of the massive program, new schools were built and space was added to existing schools in five urban provinces and 11 rural provinces throughout the country. The program’s goal was to reduce poverty and improve the living conditions of the population in the most disadvantaged areas of Turkey by increasing the levels of education there. This included support for children, young people and adults presently excluded from basic education in the country. A total of 153 schools were included in the program, which is expected to be completed by January 2008. | |
