Job Description: Develop and present the 3 year business strategy for the market (Volume, profit, brand portfolio and marketing investment); Implement and deliver the agreed annual plan for the market; Identify opportunities to develop business effectiveness (sales & profitability increase, cost streamline); Follow up on new business opportunities and projects; Manage the day to day relationship with the local distributors; Recruit, manage, develop and motivate the team; Supervise Local Promotion Agencies; Prepare detailed operational plans as well as ensure their implementation and performance monitoring. Advise management on any changes in the market (e.g. competitors’ activity) and recommend actions to adjust to the market conditions; Develop and maintain sales operating systems in order to ensure effective information handling and customer satisfaction; Ensure, in coordination with Madrid head office, production & logistical planning based on updated market and product information (sales forecasts); Ensure that all business activities comply with local legislation and group policies;

Achievements:
-Total gross margin increase of 100% in 4 years
-SoM development from 1,6% (YTD Feb 03) to 4,3% (YTD Feb 07)
-Gallaher Portugal raise from Nº 5 to Nº 2 in Portugal
-Launched new tobacco products that allowed expanding the business (300% on Hand rolling Tobacco and 50% on cigarettes)
-Distribution cost saving archived of 30%
-Despite strong investment (A&P and Selling budget grew by 1 million euros) profits remained stable at 1,3 million euros level.
