I am studying at the IT and Computer Engineering Department of the engineering school National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) of Lyon in France as a 1st year of Master student.
Four years ago I entered a special section of INSA named Oriental Languages, an international class connected to Japanese language and culture. We were introduced to the some cultural aspects of Japan like history, geography, or calligraphy.
I first entered this section because of my interest of Japan, which also results in my active participation in associations as the Asian Week which organizes each year a festival on the Asian topic on our campus. Furthermore Japan is at the point of technology, field in which I am bathed in my studies and my leisure. Per example I worked last year on an open source video editor and also was involved in a video game development.
This year, I am performing a one-year internship in Japan at NTT Cyber Solutions laboratories where I am currently working on a project at the Human Interaction Group. In the context of my internship I had the chance to expose a poster in the exposition: Interaction 2007 in Tokyo. My paper was entitled: “Presentation Enhancement by Hand Gesture Recognition and Information Sharing between Presenter and Audience”.
Japan is not my only interest center. I was also involved in different association in my school. I was for example in charge of communication with companies for my department association student. So i had to manage a team and organize a recruitment forum for my department. I also created a writing association in Lyon.
In my previous internship, I was in charge with a interesting project for Procter & Gamble Maghreb: I had to manage a supplier in a whole Moroccan territory data collecting project insisting on quality process and budget control (>150 000$)
