| March - August 2007 Social event manager for the Australian department of health and ageing The SPA association, related to the Department of health and ageing, has for main goal to help australian people to stay healthy through health promotion and disease prevention activities. For this was organised this year a gathering for all the communities assocations.The aims of this first 2007 Aboriginal Suicide Prevention Forum are:
1) for participants to experience greater networking and information sharing amongst community-based organisations that are part of the National Prevention Strategy :
* sharing any learnings and good practice principles discovered as part of implementing their projects; * discussing any performance issues or critical success factors experienced as the projects are being performed; * the development of a broad strategic direction / plan ;and * working in a collaborative manner with other organisations to achieve the wider objectives and outcomes of the National Prevention Strategy.
2) for participating organisations to build their capacity to implement health prevention projects efectively.
The first Aboriginal health Prevention Capacity Building Workshop was held in Alice Springs, Northern territory from Tuesday 12th June - Thursday 14th June 2007.
