At the present day, I am in the last few months of the fulfillment of a post-doctorate project, in the field of bio-informatics and Systems Biology.

During the years I spent doing research in the field of living
systems, I have acquired solid knowledge in genome-bioinformatics.

As part of my biochemist's scholarship at the University of Ghent, Belgium, I got acquainted to several techniques widely used in molecular biology.

Concerning experience, my knowledge in the field of molecular biology has been complemented at first, by the computer science knowledge I acquired in the Algorithms project (INRIA Rocquencourt), that is specialized in symbolic computation and analysis of algorithms, and secondly by the interactions experienced with our biologist colleagues from the research centra in Paris-area.

After analysis in distribution of genomic signals in biological texts and their related algorithmic properties, my interests now focus on the tighter integration of these concepts with one another.

In special, an extensive analysis through statistical modeling of data from micro-array experiments and the analysis of protein-DNA
interactions with respect to drug discovery strategies and the
unraveling of regulatory pathways and their modules are interesting and challenging perspectives.

As a biochemist, I am very interested in the possibility of combining experimentational work with algorithmic development.

Comparative genomics/proteomics are nowadays tools for the annotation of uncharacterized genomes.
High-throughput approaches are to be developed, both experimentally and computationally. This is where a combination of a practice in molecular biology/biochemistry and computational biology can be helpful.
My masters training in the Pasteur Institute of Paris at the onset of my PhD study made that clear, and made my training evolve in this direction.
