I am currently a third-year student in polymer chemistry at a leading engineering school, the ECPM (Ecole Européenne de Chimie, Polymères et Matériaux de Strasbourg). After having carried out a fourteen-month internship as engineer at the European Technical Centre of DuPont de Nemours in Geneva last year, I am now finishing my studies with a six-month internship by Dow Corning in Belgium before being graduated at the end of September 2008.
Thanks to the different internships I did I studied several fields of polymers: from a chemical point of view through formulation and polymerisation to physics with the characterization through a large variety of analytical techniques and the impact of additives. The fact that I was responsible in DuPont de Nemours of the tribological equipment during my internship allowed me to give trainings to my colleagues as well as to lead an industrial project. This position as a chemical engineer gave me the opportunity to integrate myself to new topics, to actively collaborate with my colleagues and to adapt and fit my knowledge of polymer chemistry to a subject I did not know before this internship. For my last training period I decided to come by Dow Corning to work on silanes and silicones to see the step between chemistry and formulation of polymers, thus in order to have the largest overview of what is possible before being really specialized within my first position.
Speaking English correctly, I would like to go worldwide to take part in transfers of knowledge and culture.
