I do not want to work in the entertainment field because I like going to the movies, or because there is something glamorous about it. I am interested in it before all because its products are very complete, artistically and economically speaking. All business aspects involved are incredibly complex: financials and human resources (at production level specially), distribution modes, which are more and more challenging as they evolve and mutate according to changing consumer habits.
I have wanted to work in this field for years: I specialized in Media & Entertainment at Essec Business School, which gave me some strong theoretical knowledge, and I chose to do two meaningful work experiences in that business field too. In April 2008, I completed an internship at Fox Pathé Europa as Junior Product Manager in the "Back-catalog" branch: it helped me comprehend the home entertainment industry as a real consumer goods market, and gain a valuable marketing experience. My first trainee position in a French film festival in Florence, Italy, had a more "Public Relations" and artistic angle to it. Two very different points of view for a better understanding of the whole picture…
To challenge myself to face other business issues, I decided to do an internship at The Boston Consulting Group in Atlanta, United States, in 2006. By thinking strategically within a team about matters as different as organizational restructuring, market sizing, or international expansion, I developed consistent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Besides my experience in Atlanta at BCG and my six-month internship in Florence, I spent a year and a half in Rome during high school, 6 months in an MBA program in Buenos Aires, 8 months studying and traveling in Singapore and around. Thanks to those numerous life-changes and contacts with other cultures, I developed strong adaptation skills and flexibility, and I am now able to communicate in various languages.
