Warmlife Holdings Ltd sells and installs replacement windows and doors to consumers and contract in southeast. T/o approx £9m. I was initially interim finance manager and then Finance and Commercial Director in order to help the group through a difficult period. I stabilised the cash situation dealing with major creditors such as HMIT and introduced controls on cash flow. I also implemented budgetary and cost control procedures. My major achievement was to secure and facilitate the sale of the business to a larger group thus allowing the existing shareholders an exit and safeguarding employment. My role ceased upon completion of the sale in July. | |

Junckers Ltd is the UK subsidiary of a Danish manufacturer of high quality wood flooring which is supplied to both retail and specification/contract markets. During my time as MD/FD it was the market leader in the UK and Ireland. I was initially employed as Financial controller to introduce financial controls into the business. I was quickly promoted to FD and then Managing Director. My role was to improve the profitability and market share. I achieved both these objectives growing the business from £2m to over £20m. It was the largest subsidiary and also provided over 50% of group contribution. I created an autonomous and financially independent subsidiary which was to prove to be a godsend to the Group. During 2003 the Group encountered financial problems and went into "suspension" (=administration) for a period of 12 months. I led an unsuccessful MBO bid for the Group and 12 months later after discussions with the new management I left the company. | |
