Why “Lightning Maths”, will you ask? Because I was indeed
struck by mathematics almost a third of a century ago,
almost a lifetime love affair…

In 2006, while searching for a business to create, a course
on how to build a successful Internet-based venture led me
to the discovery of the works of a 19th century West Point
professor named Charles Davies, whose arithmetic method
was used at the time by millions of Americans.

Further developments led me to the creation of
http://www.daviesdailies.com, an up and coming math
mentoring community. This site is dedicated to providing
news and information on the way people use maths on a
daily basis in a fun and sometimes useful manner, and cover
the topics of essential math skills, arithmetic tips, unexpected
math uses and helpful math tools. The audience will consist
of any and all human being who has demonstrated even a
remotely vague interest in grooming his math skills.

Sector: Publishing - Printing

• The training centre of the Maisons Familiales Rurales schools.
Trained more than 300 teachers into the use of distance learning
technologies. - Created their mixed Windows XP – Mac OS X
network from scratch.

Sector: Universities and higher education institutions

• The second largest French telecommunications group.
Responsible for answering pre and post sale inquiries
from a portfolio of 20 corporate customers. Tested pending
video-conferencing products and contributed potential
workarounds on ISDN-based products.

Sector: Telecom - Internet Products and Services

• A school which works on the environment training and development.
Successfully led 10 long-term unemployed young adults through
a six-months long curriculum, alternating non formal education
and internship.

Sector: Professional training

• A corporate consulting practice, now Ernst & Young Consulting.
Provided 2nd and 3rd level assistance in order to “walk the customers
through” the solution and offer a trouble-free Apple Mac environment
to over 600 consultants.

Sector: Organization and Strategy

• A finance consulting organization servicing medical practitioners.
Integrated the Windows PC network into the existing Unix-based
accounting system, enabling clerical staff to cut in half their
reporting time.

Sector: Certified Public Accounting

• A software startup that developed network agents.
Company co-founder: managed beta testing of our software.
Negotiated partnerships in California and France.

Sector: Software publishers

• Apple Computer Europe's training and development centre.
Managed all support functions to ease tenfold growth in two years.
