| A London-based French national, with 5-year+ experience in Media and Publishing as Writer, deputy-editor and Researcher in France, I am now working as Editor for two magazines produced by a UK subsidiary of the largest American educational publisher.
I have been taken on board to revamp two magazines. Both are intended for English-speaking students learning French. Choice of topics, writing, commissionning, editing, picture research, liaising with design are tasks I have been hired to do with a view towards giving them either playfulness, for the beginner one, or depth for the most advanced one. Strong emphasis and care is put on choosing topical and well-targeted subjects that reflect France and Francophone countries as they evolve now. Other tasks include overseeing the writing and editing of truly educational materials such as audio and online ones.
Skills and ability comprise of:
-- outstanding fluency of French language that enables me to write target-oriented materials ranging from features to marketing to teenagers, and strong command of English both written and spoken
-- project management experience: I created, implemented and run several projects simultaneously, including a magazine launch, and delivered all of them on schedule thanks to strong, hands-on organisational and planning skills
-- analytical mind nurtured by excellent education and furthered by a mix of industry-related and research jobs
-- adaptability to new environments and requirements thanks to years of working as contractor
