· My role: Being the point of liaison between the factory and the customers, agents and sales offices. In this regard I worked closely with the European sales department in Germany as well as with our French customers and our agents in Taiwan, Korea and China. This includes: following the current orders within the production process so as to supply a proactive service ; chasing debtors ; providing quotation, and negotiating on the design, price and payment terms (proforma invoices letter of credits and credit applications).
Participating to marketing researches and sales development.

· The company: Part of the Morgan Crucible group, one of the worldwide leaders in technical ceramics components used in a wide range of applications: telecommunications, thermal or electrical insulation but also medical instruments and implants. (www.morganadvancedceramics.com)

· My role: Analysing the current communication concept so as to reduce any obsolete or redundant procedures in the internal or external communication. My work now allows the company to achieve huge savings on employees’ workload and the cost of internal and external communication.
Proposing a sales-development plan for China. Based on existing market researches about Bühler’s main customers’ sector of activity (Automotive), I had to estimate the growing potential of the Chinese market over the next 5 to 10 years.
In addition to these missions, I took part in all daily activities of the marketing department.

· The company: Bühler Die Casting is a designer and manufacturer of die casting machines. Part of the Bühler Group (www.buehlergroup.com)

Work placement, February to April:

· My role: Look for possibilities of development for the ship’s navigation lamps within the French and British markets. After creating lists of possible new leads and make a first contact the main outcome of the research was that the expansion of the company was not in this direction as Asian competitors had already overtaken the market with cheaper solutions.

· The company: Danlamp ApS is a manufacturer of special incandescent bulbs used in artistic and decorative lighting (used in Tivoli Park of Copenhagen for instance), traffic lights or marine navigation lamps. (www.danlamp.dk)

Work placement, November '03 to January '04

· My role: Exploring the opportunities for the company in the French market. As they turned out to be quite important I guided the company through their first steps: creating and validating a first list of potential customers, getting in touch with them and finally organising a 2 weeks tour around France so as to visit our new leads. These first contacts were quite a success: They now have regular customers there, a distributor and a fast growing regional turnover.

· The company: Münster CABIN ApS is a manufacturer of luxury lamps for yachts (www.cabin.dk)

Work placement, April to June

· My role: Developing business in South of Alsace (France) for the metrology products and particularly Mahr (a German brand of metrology instruments) I worked from an existing database, visiting customers and introducing the Cyclades company as well as Mahr’s products.

· The company: Cyclades Industrie is a distributor of industrial equipment (www.cyclades-industrie.fr)

continuous improvement assistant
Work placement, February to April

· My roles: Improving a workstation using the 5S method
Carrying out an analysis about scraps and proposed solutions to optimise the production in a cost effective manner.
This placement had been extended over July as a summer job so as to put my suggestions into practise.

· The company: Bouzerot Perrier Emballages S.A. is a cardboard packaging and “point of sale advertising” designer and manufacturer working for famous brands such as Foster, Tefal or Smoby.
