2004 - 2007 : Chevrolet Italy

I focused the intervention of IT Department’s activities into the highest priority areas:
• Planned and directed the redeployment of Chevrolet’s ICT infrastructure (80 workstation, 12 Server, LAN and phone equipment, etc.) during relocation of the Italian headquarters, granting an outage of less than 4 hours to business operations.
• By developing a robust system security, disaster recovery and broad ICT governance, I achieved a “Satisfactory” rating in the General Motors Audit in 2006, which was “Unsatisfactory” before I took post.
• Using a managed software development process, I cut development time by 25% and the cost of new features on the legacy ERP (Business Management Software) used in Chevrolet Italy by 40%.
• Rationalised the corporate data infrastructure, which increased access speed by up to 400% and tightened security (firewall implementation), with no consequential increase in the IT Budget.
• Conceived and implemented high speed mobile access to Corporate Network for Chevrolet sales force.
• I renegotiated all Chevrolet Italy IT contracts, cutting costs by 40% on legacy ERP maintenance, by 30% on communications and by 15% on Network Administration.
• By launching the new high-speed Dealer access, delivering a 20-fold increase at same cost of previous solution, and greatly enhancing the interfaces to Dealer’s community (e.g. Helpdesk, Mini-Portal, ERP features, etc.) I raised the “IT Satisfaction Index” of Chevrolet Italy from 18th to 3rd position in Europe.

Reengineered the job functions of the IT team by focusing on priority areas. Obtained the following results:
• Increased availability of Ford Italy’s voice, data and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure to . 99.99%
• Rationalised infrastructure and renegotiated maintenance fees, realising annual savings of € 200,000.
• Planned the implementation in Italy of the deployment of Ford’s Corporate ERP (PeopleSoft).
• Developed and launched Ford Italy’s e-portal and CRM, saving € 4,000,000 in corporate costs.
• Conceived and coordinated a € 6,000,000 project to introduce high speed DSL links for 120 Dealers and 1000 Authorised Repairers, which increased access speed into Ford Corporate Systems tenfold.
• Managed 20,000 Helpdesk support calls annually, with survey reporting 85% satisfied customers.

Product & Channel Development Manager
Planned and implemented the distribution of Globalstar satellite phones and accessories in 24 countries, by:
• Scouting, selecting and negotiating contracts with local distribution partners in selected countries.
• Negotiating a €500,000 contract for logistics management of satellite phones and accessories.
• Implementing Elsacom’s e-commerce platform for direct sales in 5 main markets.

Senior Product Development Manager
Headed the team to conceive and developed corporate products, positioning Omnitel as the “innovative and listening” operator in the market. Two examples of legacy “killer applications” are:
• “Rete Aziendale Mobile” which allows the selective usage of corporate mobile phones (800,000 clients).
• “Web Customer Care” (www.190.it) for self-administration of corporate subscriptions and services.
• A fleet monitoring and control application for a major logistics operator (contract value € 400,000).

Conceived and developed many billing products targeted at the corporate sector, among which were:
• “Conto Aziende” which consolidates mobile costs by user group, cost centre and business unit.
• “Dual Billing” allows the separate billing of employees’ personal calls on corporate mobiles.
