I currently work as a research fellow in the Department of Materials at University of Oxford. My research lies in the field of carbon nanomaterials with the goal of finding appropriate systems for quantum information processing. I particularly focus on endohedral fullerenes, carbon cages encapsulating atoms or ions with extraordinary properties. |

From November 2006, I am a research fellow in the Department of Materials of Oxford Unversity. I work on carbon nanotubes and fullerenes with the view to find suitable candidates for quantum information processing. I study the optical and magnetic properties of lanthanide-doped fullerenes with the goal of finding molecules which are spin active as well as optically active. I also set up an new experiment combining optics and magnetic field. I am responsible for the optical measurements of the group and supervise several students, in particular 2 PhD students. My work has led to the writing of 3 publications so far.

I did a PhD in Materials Science on the study of glass-ceramics doped with lanthanide ions for photonic applications. I developped very good skills in materials synthesis (glasses, single-crystals, glass-ceramics). I had acquired strong knowledge of strucural analysis techniques (XRD, DTA, TEM), optical spectrocopy and ESR. My projet led to the development of a new family of optical fibers which looked promising for the future. Over my 3 years of PhD, I had the opportunity to present my work in various international conferences. I also wrote several publications in international reviews.
