Job Description:

September 2006 to October 2007: Graduate Engineer in Offshore Engineering Division (OED)
Finite Elements Analyses (Reeling analyses of pipelines onboard Technip's vessels) using Abaqus.
Pipelay analyses using Orcaflex.
Analyses of subsea modules installation using Orcaflex.
R&D and consolidation work (transition reeling)

From October 2007: Product Service and Equipment department
Development of a new equipment for a vessel.

Sector: Petroleum - Exploration - Production - Refining

Mechanical engineer in SM2A, a small company specialized in industrial maintenance and creation of special machines. This work involved meetings with the clients and suppliers, mechanical design of the machines according to standards, stress calculation and choice of components. The drawings were made with the CAD software SolidWorks and the stress calculations were made by hand or with a stress analysis software.

Sector: Industrial Maintenance

With a team of American students, design and building of an aircraft model (about 275 inches wingspan) for the SAE Aero Design competition. The goal of this competition is to lift as much weight as possible in a limited takeoff distance. This internship involved designing and machining aluminum parts and working with composites such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, NOMEX Honeycomb core… The plane finished the competition at the third position.

Sector: Aeronautic construction

Samson SA is a company manufacturing pumps for chemical industry.
Project: development of a new product for the company. At the end of the internship, the product was designed and Samson was ready to manufacture a prototype.

Sector: Mechanical industries

Two months internship at IR Montabert, a company producing demolition machines, located near Lyon in France (Montabert is part of the international group Ingersoll-Rand).
Project: Finite Elements Analysis of cement breaking equipment and proposals of improvement. The results of the analysis were kept by the company in order to improve the product.
