I am currently working in the project GALILEO, in the area of Navigation, as an AIV (Assembly, Integration and Validation) Engineer. Galileo will be Europe’s own global navigation satellite system, providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. It will be inter-operable with GPS and GLONASS, the two other global satellite navigation systems.

I am looking for a job in Germany, or a position in a company with some subsidiaries in Germany.

I am in charge of the “Processing Chain” (consisting mainly in the “Orbit & Synchronisation Processing Facility”, “Integrity Processing Facility”, and “Missions Support Facility”).

EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service or Early Galileo Navigation Operational Service), precursor to the Galileo positioning system.

· I have been working as an AIV (Assembly, Integration and Validation) Engineer in the EGNOS CPF (Central Processing Facility) team. I am responsible for the writing, configuration management, preparation, running and analysis of the tests.
· I have been performing the onsite upgrades of the CPFs’ bootloaders (CPF initialisation SW) in the various MCC (Mission Control Centre) in Langen (Germany), in Swanwick (Great-Britain), in Torrejon (Spain), in Ciampino (Italia) or in PACF (Performance Assessment and Check-out Facility) in CNES (Toulouse, France).
· I am in charge of the obsolescence analysis of the CPF.

CAPTEC is a high technology Irish company specializing in advanced software development for the space and medical markets. Since starting with the company in June, I have developed several applications using CAPTEC’s in-house image compression software, including a codec for video compression (I used mainly C++ (Visual C++), MFC, Microsoft DDK).

-> Development of several applications and a library using CAPTEC’s in-house image compression software RICA (Reversible Image Compression Algorithm) (development in Visual C++ under Windows, using MFC, dialog-box based applications, document/view architecture, and the C++ Standard Library)
-> Development of the compress part of a codec using the RICA algorithm (development in Visual C++ under Windows, Microsoft DDK) Study of the ESA ECSS-E-40B Standard for the validation of the software embedded on HERSHEL-PLANCK Spacecraft. (1 month)

Post-graduate internship as a Software Engineer in the Real Time Middleware Division
I was responsible for the development of a multiprocessor real time operating system. The most important part of my work was to modify the scheduler and to initialise most of the components that rely on the second processor. This included technical design of the kernel code, coding in C and assembler, testing and documenting.
