I am currently looking after the Smart card banking business for Gemalto for UK & Ireland. This is an operational job overlooking strategy implementation and striving to increase our revenue and profitability in this mass market. It relates to the 4Ps and contributing to liaise with many other departments of the company such as manufactruing, product marketing, business and adminsitation planning, etc...
I started as Area Sales Engineer in the aeronautical industry during three years in Alkan company, part of Matra Defense (EADS now). I had then the opportunity to join Schlumberger company as Technical Support Engineer in the Smart chip card industry. I have been working for eleven (11) years for the company known now as Gemalto, result of a merger of equals between the two leaders in the Smart Card industry.
I have had the opportunity to evolve working in the Telecom industry (products and solution spanning from prepaid cards to payphones solutions) then in the transport industry with Automated Fare Collection system (Parkeon) with the implementation of the autmoated fare collection for the city of Bordeaux and now for the last three years in the Banking industry targeting financial institutions, retail banks, transactions processors in the domain of debit/credit/atm cards and security.
