UKAEA is one of the 60 governmental associations in the world, based in UK (Oxford), working for the ITER nuclear fusion program in Cadarache (France). I'm in charge to manage a Magnetic residual Ion dump on the "neutral beam line" which is a thermal source to heat the plasma to 100 millions ºC in the ITER torus in Cadarache. This source is required to activate the fusion reaction. My task is then to develop this concept of MRID and perform a feasability program to ITER. Tests and manufacturing plans need to be raised as well. | |
