I was a French employee for four years in a Chinese company and I often used English to do business even though customers were mostly French. I thus got used to keep switching between the three languages to translate, communicate or negotiate contracts. I have translated business plans, contracts, movie scenarios and subtitles, meeting summaries, company presentations… All the other employees were Chinese.
I got a 4-year diploma in Bordeaux University with a major in Chinese and English, and studied 2 years in Beijing universities. I live in Beijing since 2001; my husband is Chinese and doesn’t speak any other languages.
In 2006 I started to do part-time freelance translation and since July 1, 2007, I am a full time freelance translator.
