Erik Van Agtmaal

Altimedes was created by Mr Erik van Agtmaal, a specialist in organisational sociology, chain and network studies and supply chain management. Erik van Agtmaal (°1957 Wassenaar Netherlands) studied sociology, business administration, finance and international relations at the Rijksuniversiteit Gent, the Catholic Universiteit Leuven and the Clingendael Institute for International Relations in the Netherlands. Before setting up Altimedes, Erik van Agtmaal worked as business development director at the British listed logistics services companies Hays and Christian Salvesen. Erik van Agtmaal is active in several associations, including the European movement. He was co-founder and first president of the Europakring of the University of Ghent. As co-founder or participating member of various associations and collaborative business networks in Belgium and the Netherlands, he has acquired extensive experience in the functioning of collaborative networks and their success factors.

He is a founding member and managing partner of the Green Logistics Consultants. (www.greenlogisticsconsultants.com). The Green Logistics Consultants is a growing group of international supply chain specialists. Green logistics consultants promote the acceptance of a green logistics policy among their customers and assist companies to analyse their supply chain in terms of potential environmental improvements and help companies to develop sustainable value chain strategies and to achieve green logistics measures.
