Job description: Research & development project in Software engineering for light-weight embedded systems. In this government-funded project, I am the principal investigator and architect of a software platform to develop applications on wireless sensor networks. The platform targets three specific and innovative qualities: - End-to-end security to protect data assets against physical and software attacks - Fault-tolerance based on automated mechanisms (self-adaptive approach) - Development environment to facilitate the design and deployment of applications In this ongoing project running from 2007, I am responsible for the architecture of the platform and the organization of its development (3 core developers, including me, and 3 Ph.D. and Master student thesis work). The challenges are the very stringent development conditions (limited memory, short-life batteries, and wireless communications) and the execution in open environments. The project will be released open source when stable enough, and several technical publications are scheduled on the different contributions of the work. Research Assistant

The National Institute of Informatics is a Japanese research center in Computer Science situated in Tokyo. It conducts research from the foundation of computer systems to practical matters. I participated as research assistant in research projects of the institute for 3 years. I was related first to the Digital Silk Roads project with the development of web technologies. The aim was to support experts in the Silk Roads' history and cultural aspects with appropriate technologies to manage multi-media data. I developed a Java-based portal using primarily technologies from the Apache Foundation, and a number of custom services developed especially for the project. I was then related to 6 short-term projects on software development, international workshop organization, book chapter writing (on Model-checking), and English support (proof-reading of scientific papers). | |
