Allstate (www.allstate.com, ticket ALL) is a large PC and Life US insurer, with dominant PC activities.

Within Allstate Finance, the Life Insurance subsidiary, I am heading the Economic Capital initiative where economic metrics are developed (EVA, EC, FAS 157, PBA/PBR etc). This section reports to the Modeling department, and indirectly to the Chief Actuary within Finance.

Ernst & Young has an actuarial department which is divided in Life/Health and PC sub-section. Within the Life section, a consultant actuary is assigned to various project, audit related or not.
Audit related projects are focused on helping the audit team (accountant background) with the technical aspects of the financial statement: reserve, DAC, AOM and related items.
Non-audit related project are advisory assignments, from US Tax expertise to strategic and planing, Actuarial transformation and others.

I was specialised in EC and US Tax.
