I've been working now for Atos Origin for almost 7 years
Mainly, I've been involved in developing custom solutions for our clients and more precisely, I've been above all looking after Web applications
I'm currently undertaking an assignment in India (Mumbai) to achieve 2 main goals :
- 1st is to improve the quality of our delivery to meet our clients' expectations.
- 2nd is to increase the business between the 2 countries.
My role today can be split in 2 ways :
- 1st is to smooth the relationships between France & India and to bridge the cultural gap. I monitor the operations and try to train everybody either France or India so that they meet half way. On India's side, I "teach" the French way of working and what are France expectations. On France's side, I try to adjust the level of information coming from France because French people definitely don't work in an anglo-saxon way that means they don't specify clearly their requirements, they don't give a full visibility though they claim for a high flexibility.
This is only achievable through the deployment of standard processes that should avoid all kind of discrepancies (CMMI).
- 2nd is to be the single point of contact for the bids and/or the set-up of new contracts
I'm so far more or less focusing on Renault operations because it is our biggest client in France and overall the one who is willing to offshore its applications.
Nevertheless, we expect very soon to get business from our other big clients like France Telecom.
