After gaining my degree from Loughborough University I have been working in France and Germany for Airbus as an Environmental Control Systems Engineer with responsibility for cabin air quality and ozone converters.
After 9 years experience in the Air Systems domain I have recently moved into the Information Security domain.

Main Responsibilities Cabin air quality specialist including crew and passenger health and comfort strategy Airbus focal point for ASHRAE & AECMA-STAN air quality standards committees Technical chairman of EC funded project ICE (Ideal Cabin Environment) Lead engineer for Ozone and VOC Converters for SA, LR, A380, A400M and A350 Knowledge Management Champion for EYV As cabin air quality specialist I have been involved in leading internal development projects, covering current and future programmes, as well as external research projects concerning the cabin environment and health and comfort issues. I have additionally been focal point for cabin air quality standards and guideline committees and have been involved in preparing strategy documents for these subjects. I have served on standards committees preparing cabin air quality standards, both in the US (member of ASHRAE SPC161) and EC (CabinAir in association with AECMA-STAN draft prEN4618). These committees involved negotiations with airworthiness authorities, other aircraft manufacturers, airlines, crew unions and equipment suppliers. I am additionally Technical Chairman for the EC funded project ICE. This requires coordinating the activities of the participating organisations and companies – the ICE consortium consists of 15 partners including regulatory bodies, research institutions and universities. As lead engineer for the Ozone Converter I have coordinated developments for A380 and A400M (including support for specific certification issues) as well as development of a combined VOC/Ozone Converter for A350, A380, SA and LR fleets. For my work on the combined converter I won a 2005 Airbus Corporate Award for Excellence (Customer Focus). | |
