After gaining my degree from Loughborough University I have been working in France and Germany for Airbus as an Environmental Control Systems Engineer with responsibility for cabin air quality and ozone converters.

After 9 years experience in the Air Systems domain I have recently moved into the Information Security domain.

As cabin air quality specialist I have been involved in leading internal development projects, covering current and future programmes, as well as external research projects concerning the cabin environment and health and comfort issues. I have additionally been focal point for cabin air quality standards and guideline committees and have been involved in preparing strategy documents for these subjects.
I have served on standards committees preparing cabin air quality standards, both in the US (member of ASHRAE SPC161) and EC (CabinAir in association with AECMA-STAN draft prEN4618). These committees involved negotiations with airworthiness authorities, other aircraft manufacturers, airlines, crew unions and equipment suppliers.
I am additionally Technical Chairman for the EC funded project ICE. This requires coordinating the activities of the participating organisations and companies – the ICE consortium consists of 15 partners including regulatory bodies, research institutions and universities.
As lead engineer for the Ozone Converter I have coordinated developments for A380 and A400M (including support for specific certification issues) as well as development of a combined VOC/Ozone Converter for A350, A380, SA and LR fleets. For my work on the combined converter I won a 2005 Airbus Corporate Award for Excellence (Customer Focus).
