I took the plunge for London in September 2006, wishing mainly to discover a new professional environment in my field, i.e.

Accounting.

Given that this will be my first experience in the UK, I am looking for relatively unskilled work to begin with (Accounts Assistant or Data Input Clerk or any position linked to Accounting) in order to become acquainted with methods proper to UK GAAP before moving towards positions that match my qualifications.

I have a good level of spoken English (I prepared my move to London, studying English for 4 months in a Wall Street Institute in Lyon, until the month of August 2006).
