BHP Billiton is the world's largest diversified natural resources company. Petroleum is one of its seventh Customer Sector Groups (Aluminium, Base metals, Carbon steel materials, Diamonds and specialty products, energy coal and stainless steel materials).

As a development geologist in the petroleum engineering technology group, I am in charge of developing and testing new technologies. My role includes training of employees within the asset teams to make sure the technology is available and used.

Area of focus include depth calibration of seismic data using velocity modeling, design and implementation of pore pressure predictions in 3D, lithology classification both at core scale (lithofacies, bedding structures) and log scale (electrotypes), 3D high resolution wellbore modeling of core data, upscaling properties from plug scale to geocellular scale.
