You can ask your contacts to write a reference about you, or you can recommend another member by writing a reference about them.
Once accepted, your references appear in your profile.
Note: you may remove a reference from your profile at any time.

A short message from a contact to reference your past professional experience adds credibility to your profile.
You can ask one of your contacts to write a reference for you.
How do I ask for a reference? |
Go to Profile > References and select a position by clicking 'My contacts'. Select the members you would like to ask for a reference and include a message.
What happens after I send my reference request? |
The contact(s) that you have asked are notified of your request on their dashboard. All they need to do is click on the corresponding link to write (or refuse to write) a recommendation for you.
Once your contact has written recommendation for you, you will be notified by email. By clicking on the corresponding link on your dashboard, you can accept the reference, refuse it or even ask your contact to change it.
If you accept a reference, it will then appear in your profile, next to the position concerned.
Choose whether to display references on your profile under Profile > References > My references.
How can I write a reference about one of my contacts? |
You can do this if a contacts asks you to (see above).
You can also write a reference for one of your contacts without being requested to do so. When viewing their profile simply click on 'Write a reference' for the position concerned. (This link only appears if you are connected to this person.)
Write your recommendation by giving your opinion of the member and add other relevant information such as how you know each other.
